International Business Development (IBD) department-NTPC is conducting training programs for professionals from Uganda, Kenya and Morocco, under the auspices of Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) program, Development Partnership Administration, Ministry of External Affairs, India. The programs are being conducted in association with NTPC School of Business, the best energy management college in India.

The present capacity development programs on “Electric Vehicles, Batteries and Charging stations” for the professionals of Uganda and on “Wind Energy Systems” for power professionals from Kenya were conducted from 18th – 22nd March 2024. A total of 17 participants from Uganda and 19 trainees from Kenya have travelled to India for these programs. The programs were formally inaugurated on 18th March 2024, by Dr J. S Chandok, General Manager (IBD), NTPC Limited in the presence of Dr Rajeshwari Narendran, Director, NSB.

The program on Electric Vehicle was designed to provide individuals with knowledge and skills related to Electric Vehicles (EVs), batteries, and charging infrastructure. The program carries great importance as Electric Vehicles are fast emerging as a way forward for reducing greenhouse gas emissions with net zero as the focus.

The program on Wind Energy covered the Technology, Operation & Maintenance, Integration, and Regulatory aspects of a Wind Power Plant and was filled with site visit to the Suzlon Wind Plant Site, Balesar, Jodhpur.

The valedictory function was held on 22nd March 2024 at NSB wherein the participants were felicitated with certification for the course. The function was conducted in the presence of Dr J. S Chandok, General Manager (IBD), NTPC Ltd., Shri. A. P. Dash Ex Dean, NSB, and Dr. D. Palit, Proff. NSB.
